Grant McOmie on the Metolius
In July Grant McOmie from KGW channel 8 in Portland, Oregon came to the Fly Fisher's Place to tie a few flies and talk fishing with owner, Jeff Perin. After a morning visit at the shop, Grant and his family headed out to the Metolius where he visited the trails, the camp grounds and the Wizard Falls fish hatchery before meeting back up with Jeff for an afternoon of fishing.
The day was hot but the waters were cold and clear. We had slow fishing, but great conversation and plenty of fun together. Of course, as soon as Grant and the Camera man (another Jeff) left, the afternoon hatch began and Jeff Perin hooked 11 fish that afternoon all on various dry flies to match 3 different mayflies that were hatching. That's fishing!
