Fishing Reports
Crooked River - July 17th, 2010
- Recorded:
- 85 ° F
- Fishing: Fair
We are having mixed reports....some days are good and some days not so much. It kind of depends on how much moss is in the drift. Little Nymphs like the Skinny Nelson, Beer Head Baetis, Zebra Midge and Serendipities are all good. Don't forget scuds, cased caddis and your dry flies. Renegade, Adams, Brown Haze and Sparkle Dun are all productive for the surface.
Crooked River - June 26th, 2010

- Fishing: Good
The fishing was going great until ODFW electro-shocked the river latelast week and put the fish down for a few days. It is bouncing back fast, Steve had a good day on Wednesday with some clients, catching a few on small Stimulators and most on dark caddis pupa. Look for BWO's and PMD's, Caddis, Mahogany Dun and even some midges to be important. Scuds and eggs are also very good bets.

- Fishing: Fair
The water is still high but it is dropping. We've had good reports on Caddis hatches and nymphing the bank lines.
Crooked River - June 8th, 2010
- Recorded:
- 71 ° F
- Fishing: Poor
The Water is really high. It dropped a little bit today. I heard from some campers that the caddis hatch is still very strong and if you seek out some quiet spots that the fish are still rising for dries. The Crooked would be very low on my own list to fish right now.
Crooked River - May 24th, 2010
- Recorded:
- 60 ° F
- Fishing: Great
The water is getting better every day and the fishing is really good on caddis and mayflies. Lot's of fish rising in the afternoon and nymphing is also very good.
Crooked River - May 8th, 2010
- Recorded:
- 58 ° F
- Fishing: Fair
It's good to see the water coming back in shape after the runoff. We are under 500 cfs and it looks like it is dropping more, but I like the level for fishing now too. Normal summer flows are around 200 cfs.
The fish are close to the banks and feeding on BWO nymphs and dries, midges, scuds and especially mothers day caddis larva in the case (Hares Ear, Prince or Peeking Caddis). The BIG Mothers Day caddis hatch is getting close...stay tuned, we'll let you know when the blizzard begins.
