The water is perfect and the fish are on the bite. We had an amazing day guiding yesterday. The fish are really keyed in to feeding, and we have been catching fish on a bunch of different things. Stonefly nymphs are important as we are getting close to the hatch, bwo and pmd nymphs, caddis pupa, prince, hares ear's, p.t's are all good nymphs and purple haze and bwo and march browns are all taking fish off the top.

We have begun the guide season in Maupin for 2010 and it is nice to be back on the river!
We're seeing March Browns and Baetis hatches and picking up some fish on dries.
Stonefly Nymphs, Buggers and serendipity, green rock worms & copper johns are al fishing well.

Plenty of Steelhead being caught from Warm Springs to Maupin and below.
The fish are really hitting "cheeseburger" stones.
Swinging with traditional Purple or Black flies is also taking fish. Leech patterns fished on tips is good when the water temp drops. We started getting sunny, warm weather again 3 days ago and the fish have gone nuts.

We are still having some great days steelhead fishing on the lower river and now we are also seeing some better results for Steelhead in the Warm Springs area.
Trout Creek to Maupin is stacked with fish. Book a multi day and go do it!
We've been seeing some good BWO action on the river. Nymphs, emergers and dries are all good. October caddis pupa or a Stonefly nymph are productive with a trailing fly. Try an Angel Case emerger, Holographic Prince, Flashback PT, 3 Dollar Dip, Shop Vac, Red Headed Step Child or Fox's Poopah.
It is raining today but the weather looks much better after today.

WOW! The Steelhead fishing is really strong. We had a 37 fish day with 3 anglers this week. That is above average but all of the trips have been good.
The fish are all the way to Warm Springs. South Jct. and the Maupin area are all good targets too.
Trout fishing is improving in the Warm Springs area. It is still hot here but it is looking like a cool down is coming in the next week.
