Fishing Reports

PMD's, BWO's, rusty spinners, PED's, yellow sallys, caddis and ants. Hopper dropper method can be very productive here. When the fish are down deep a heavy stonefly with the dropper of a smaller attractive nymph like a prince or rainbow warrior seems to work well.

 Flows are average and the fishing has been pretty steady this summer! From the McKenzie Bridge down to Leaburg Lake expect to catch a lot of stocked trout. Stick with Attractor Patterns, such as Purple Haze, Go to Hell Varient, Adams, and Royal Wulfs. Fish with caddis in the evening and expect PMD's during the late afternoon then again in the evening.  Expect to see caddis, green caddis, stonefly nymphs, yellow sallys, midges, pale morning duns, and pale evening duns. Good patterns to fish would be the lady di, purple haze, yellow comparadun, stimulator, and x-caddis. The hopper dropper can be productive.  

 On the McKenzie fish are being fooled on top with caddis, yellow sallys, PMD's, and Rusty Spinners. Use 5X for the dries, and 4X flourocarbon for the nymphs. Golden stone nymphs with an attractor dropper can be a very deadly method o nthe McKenzie.

 Expect a PED hatch around 11am and again around 630pm. Attractor patterns are great flies for the McKenzie. Purple haze as well as Para Adams. 

McKenzie Is fishing really well. The flow is average, and the fish are active. Stick with PMD patterns, Caddis, and Attractor Dries. Bead Headed nymphs are great patterns to use in the morning.
